Competencies of successful entrepreneurs

Competencies of successful entrepreneurs

1. A sense of fairness

For dealing with vendors, customers, and employees. A successful entrepreneur needs to be able to be fair with those they do business with.

2. Willingness to work hard

Entrepreneurs need the ability to work shoulder to shoulder with other people. It's true cause i have felt it. And my principle is this , "The harder I work, the luckier I get".

3. Knowing what they don’t know

To me, that’s much more important than what you do know. Know where you are weakest, and where your strengths lie. Do not let people see your weaknesses, show them your strenght.

4. Making mistakes

You have to deal with failure. Keep pitching. Do not give up. Life is a journey and you must feel the experience and let the pain heals by time.

5. Do what you enjoy

If you’re starting a business for the money, you may be in it for the wrong reasons. Make sure you are doing what you truly enjoy. You can find your happiness by busying yourself.

6. Plan everything

It doesn’t have to be a formal business plan, a lean plan or an internal plan can work fine. What kind of plan you choose depends on your business and the needs of your company, but you need a plan regardless of what your goals and intentions are.

7. Remember, it’s all about the customer

To be a successful entrepreneur, it’s important to sell something that your customers actually want. Knowing your customers well is key here.

8. Get to know your customers

If you can personalize your business, you set yourself apart from the competition. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can just put out a great product and leave it at that.

9. Level the playing field with technology

Successful entrepreneurs utilize the technology available to them. What technology is out there that can make running your business easier? Leveraging available technology to your advantage can make the difference between a run-of-the-mill small business, and one that can stand up to bigger competitors.

10. Be accessible

Make it easy for people to buy and use your product. Don’t make it challenging for people to do business with you.

11. Grab attention

You may only have one chance to convince someone that your business is worth a second glance. Let them see your shine and show them your power.

12. Self-Motivation

One of the most important traits of entrepreneurs is self-motivation. When you want to succeed, you need to be able to push yourself. You aren’t answerable to anyone else as an entrepreneur, and that sometimes means that it’s hard to get moving without anyone to make you. You need to be dedicated to your plan and keep moving forward even if you aren’t receiving an immediate paycheck.

13. Take Risks

Successful entrepreneurs know that sometimes it’s important to take risks. Playing it safe almost never leads to success as a business owner. It’s not about taking just any risk, though. Understanding calculated risks that are more likely to pay off is an important part of being an entrepreneur. You’ll need to be willing to take a few risks to succeed.
